Living in a remote community can present challenges in accessing affordable supplies and resources required to attend school. In Partnership with Kits for a Cause, Bargains Group, and inspired by a young girl named Isabelle, True North Aid sent its first-ever shipment of backpacks and school supplies to Pikangikum First Nation in Northern Ontario. Since then, True North Aid has fulfilled numerous requests for backpacks and school supplies across the country. Through the COVID-19 pandemic, True North Aid launched Learning from Home, a program aimed to supply students with the tools to continue learning from home – this program has now become Back-To-School.

We have shipped over 10,000 backpacks to communities across the north, with sets catering to high school and elementary students.

Applications for this program will open in May of each year, which shipments expected to be sent out in August.
