“True North Aid made a significant impact on our community by addressing our needs effectively. Parents expressed deep gratitude, relieved of one major concern at the start of the school year. Meanwhile, the youth were thrilled to receive beautifully designed backpacks filled with essential supplies, enhancing their excitement and readiness for the upcoming academic year.”

Since 2019, we have shipped over 12,483 backpacks to 68 communities across the north, with school supply sets specifically curated for high school and elementary students.
Living in a remote community can present challenges in accessing affordable supplies and resources required for a successful start to the school year. Inspired by a young girl named Isabelle, True North Aid sent its first-ever shipment of backpacks and school supplies to Pikangikum First Nation in northern Ontario. Since then, True North Aid has fulfilled numerous requests for backpacks and school supplies nationwide. During the COVID-19 pandemic, True North Aid launched Learning from Home, a program designed to equip students with the necessary tools to continue learning from home. We transitioned into the Back To School program when students returned to school in person, and it has been one of our most important outreach programs ever since.
We have partnered with Indigenous-owned business Indigenous Reflections, who provides high quality backpacks, school supplies, and logistics to ensure we can get quality, consistent items to communities in northern and remote areas. Your donations can help us outfit even more students each year with the supplies they deserve.
