A Good Night’s Sleep in Canoe Lake

Some of the most meaningful moments happen outside of the delivery itself.

In June, Lisa travelled to Canoe Lake Cree First Nation with Rey and Maggie from Silk & Snow to deliver beds through our A Good Night’s Sleep program. While ensuring families had a safe and comfortable place to sleep was the purpose of our visit, it was the connections we made that will stay with us.

We were honoured to be welcomed to the community’s pow wow, where we celebrated alongside community members and experienced the strength of culture, tradition, and connection. We also had the privilege of spending time with Chief Francis Iron, whose deep love and commitment to his community was inspiring to witness.

The visit was made even more special by sharing a wonderful dinner with the Iron family and being graciously hosted by North Haven Lodge on the beautiful shores of Canoe Lake.
