Grade 3 Culture Days

True North Aid’s Community Initiatives Program funds community-led projects, such as the Grade 3 Culture Days program in Kuujjuarapik. This cultural reclamation program took place over many days, with different skills for the students to learn.

• A caribou was donated to the school, and students had the opportunity to learn about caribou hides, nikkuk (dried caribou), and enjoy a feast that brought generations together.
• Elders worked with young students in the art of soapstone carving, giving hands-on experience and connection through generations
