Canoe Instructor’s Certification

Province: Saskatchewan

Communities: Beauval, Green Lake, Buffalo Narrows, La Loche, Pinehouse, La Ronge, Sandy Bay, and Cumberland House.

Through True North Aid’s Community Initiatives Program, the Northern Lights School Division Canoe Instructor Recertification Program supports educators in maintaining their Paddle Canada certifications so they can continue offering safe, engaging canoe instruction to students across Northern Saskatchewan.

The program includes two training and recertification clinics, bringing instructors together to refresh their skills, share knowledge, and strengthen connections between communities.

By helping instructors maintain their qualifications, the initiative supports ongoing paddling opportunities for students, encouraging physical activity, confidence, and connection with the land.

It also helps ensure that canoe education can continue reaching young people across the region for years to come.

True North Aid is proud to support initiatives that build on community strengths and create opportunities for youth through learning, collaboration, and connection.
