MOON TIME SISTERS

ONTARIO

Moon Time Sisters Ontario is a volunteer-led organization that began in March 2017. We partner with over 55 northern Indigenous communities in Ontario, Quebec, Nunavut, Newfoundland and Labrador and Northwest Territories to supply people who menstruate with free period products. Moon Time Sisters Ontario works with high schools, health care centres, food banks, women’s shelters, midwifery organizations, and community programs to ensure these products are accessible to the community.

All items are collected through personal, business, school, or organizational drives throughout the year. Every October, we complete an annual drive where we take in all Moon Time related items such as pads, tampons, cloth pads, period underwear, menstrual cups, and natural pain relief.  These items are sent to the partner communities free of charge, and are funded by our monetary donations.
All other hygiene items that are not sent north are given to an Indigenous based family shelter and a women’s healing lodge in Toronto.
Together we have raised and sent over 500,000 items to remote northern communities.
