Living in a remote community can present challenges in accessing affordable supplies and resources required for a successful start to the school year. Inspired by a young girl named Isabelle, True North Aid sent its first-ever shipment of backpacks and school supplies to Pikangikum First Nation in northern Ontario. Since then, True North Aid has fulfilled numerous requests for backpacks and school supplies nationwide. During the COVID-19 pandemic, True North Aid launched Learning from Home, a program designed to equip students with the necessary tools to continue learning from home. This has now transitioned into the Back To School program.

We have shipped over 10,000 backpacks to communities across the north, with sets specifically curated for high school and elementary students.

Applications for this program will open in the spring, with shipments expected to be sent out in August.
