Marilyn Shuart
Finance Director
Marilyn is happily retired from a successful and very fulfilling career with Canada Revenue Agency spanning a period of thirty-eight years where she served in various management and executive positions. She considers her greatest success to be in being recognized for her integrity and her great ability to create a team by choosing people who are smarter than she is! Being happily married for fifty-four years, she has the best husband, two sons and seven grandchildren. Marilyn has volunteered for many years serving as church treasurer, project manager for a renovation, youth leader, mentoring young adults, providing marriage seminars and pre-marital counseling, assisting elderly neighbors especially during the season of Covid, providing advice to parents struggling with children, etc. She says it’s all just trying to make the space around us better! Marilyn began as a volunteer at True North Aid taking responsibility for all donor acknowledgement. This proved very fulfilling as she fell in love with the mission of the organization. After 2 ½ years of volunteer work, Marilyn joined True North Aid part-time as Finance Manager. She currently serves as Finance Director, working 10 hours per week.
