From Bag to Bannock
Province: Canadawide
Community: Various
Date: 2021-2022
In partnership with Prairie Flour Mills, True North Aid purchased large bags of flour for remote communities across the country during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Flour is an essential staple food for those living in northern communities in Canada. From baking bread to thickening sauces and so much more, flour is an important resource for families. During the pandemic, flour has become increasingly difficult to access due to the high cost of food, the inability for individuals to travel outside of their communities, and the scarcity of products at grocery stores. Since the launch of From Bag to Bannock, True North Aid has shipped more than 114,714 lbs of flour to remote communities across the country!
