Moon Time Sisters is a collective of people who want to help young women in northern and remote communities throughout Saskatchewan and Ontario access feminine hygiene projects that they otherwise could not afford. Moon Time Sisters has been able to support over 25 communities in less than 2 years.
Moon Time Sisters is a volunteer-led organization and a project of True North Aid that believes in the power and solidarity of women.

Project Overview

Moon Time Sisters Ontario Saskatchewan was found by Nicole Smith, a Metis woman from Regina. To her, Moon Time Sisters is a great, productive way to support young women living in northern communities by providing and sending feminine hygiene products. In many communities, feminine hygiene products like pads and tampons can cost $18 a package.

Mission & Goals

  • provide affordable feminine hygiene products to women and girls living in northern communities
  • promote the power and solidarity of women across indigenous communities
  • collect, organize and vet feminine hygiene donations for delivery to communities by organizing packing parties and donation points
