In partnership with Movember, True North Aid is proud to support Work 2 Give, an initiative with Correctional Services Canada. This project recruits Indigenous offenders at Collins Bay, Joyceville, Bath and Beaver Creek Institutions to build structures for remote Indigenous communities. Indigenous men garner the skills and knowledge within the carpentry trade and help give back to the community. This includes crafting shelving units, garden beds and planters, benches, feather boxes, end tables, picnic tables, floating docks, and bunkies. This year that included supporting the communities of Apitipi First Nation, Serpent River, Wiikwemkoong and Taykwa Tagmou Nation.
We are happy to work with project lead Robert Rittwage to make this program successful!
