Biography

Born in India, my family immigrated to Canada when I was 4 years old.  I grew up in Brantford and then moved to Mississauga when I was 17.  I received my first degree in Sociology from the University of Western Ontario then went on to get my graduate certificate in Business Management from the University of California in Berkeley. I then met a handsome Kiwi who swept me off my feet, married him and moved to New Zealand where I was blessed to be surrounded by the Maori community. Experiencing the culture of the Maori people was one of the most eye-opening and spiritually significant experiences of my life.

I Graduated from the University of Victoria Law School in 2003 had my own criminal defence practice in Peel and Halton for many years.  In 2019 I started working as an assistant crown attorney back in Brantford, where my roots have always been.

I have a strong sense of justice and a great deal of gratitude for everything I have been able to achieve.  For many years I worked with abused women and children as a crisis intervention counsellor and then volunteer.  With this sense of gratitude I volunteer with Sai Dham Food Bank, specifically delivering food to the homeless population in Brantford every Sunday.  I owe it to my community to give back, this is what gives me the most joy!
