Lisa Mazzocato
Lisa Mazzocato is the Executive Director of True North Aid, bringing a deep commitment to service, relationship-building, and community impact. Lisa resides on the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit in the town known as Oakville, where she lives with her husband and son.
Lisa’s journey with True North Aid began in 2017 as a volunteer. Through her involvement with programs such as Hockey Cares and her growing connections with northern and remote Indigenous communities, she developed a profound appreciation for the strength, resilience, and leadership of the people and communities served by the organization. What started as volunteer involvement quickly grew into a passion for supporting community-led initiatives and advancing meaningful reconciliation through action.
Prior to joining True North Aid, Lisa spent more than fifteen years working in the healthcare sector, where she developed extensive experience in operations, leadership, and organizational management. Since joining the organization, she has helped guide the organization’s growth, strengthen its operational capacity, and expand its impact in Indigenous communities across Canada.
As Executive Director, Lisa is committed to fostering relationships built on trust, respect, and reciprocity. She believes that meaningful change begins with listening to communities, supporting Indigenous-led solutions, and walking alongside communities as partners. Her leadership is grounded in humility, collaboration, and a shared vision of ensuring that northern and remote Indigenous communities have equitable access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
