Katie Koopman
Reconciliation Program Coordinator
Katie has personally committed to the journey of reconciliation with her family since April, 2016. She believes that hard conversations regarding the truth about our country’s past and current history will lead to the relationship between non-Indigneous and Indigenous people that is long overdue for all of us. Katie considers working for True North Aid a privilege, and is eager to engage peers in reconciliatory conversation in virtual and in-person events across Canada. Currently she is working toward a 3-year Global Development degree via Queen’s University, while simultaneously completing her Community Engagement, Leadership and Development certificate via Toronto Metropolitan University. Her energy is replenished puttering around her home (on a dead end dirt road) north of Kingston, Ontario and this can involve checking in on her small flock chickens, wrangling in her favourites for a cuddle and pep talk. Katie believes that The Princess Bride is the most perfect movie ever made.
