Indigenous Youth Opportunities Program (IYOP) Launching June 21, 2021
Seed Grants for Indigenous Youth-led Projects in Canada
Kitchener, Ontario: True North Aid announced the Inaugural Indigenous Youth Opportunities Program. Indigenous Youth (13-30-year-olds) are invited to apply for a grant ranging from $250 – $1,000 towards boosting their initiatives and projects. All strengths-based projects: from arts, music, sports, to traditional and cultural or uniquely crafted are welcome! The IYOP team will mentor the winners throughout their project implementation and have regular progress check ins.
Features and benefits of IYOP include.
- Seed grants from $250-$1,000 depending on project complexity and goals
- 10-day Life Skills Training Workshop led by IYOPs Knowledge Keeper, Teresa Snow
- Exposure for projects and networking opportunity with other youth and mentors in the program
Applications open on Monday June 21st, and submissions close on July 31st, 2021. Winners will be announced second week of Aug 2021. Winners start their Projects Sept 2021 & have up to a year to complete their funded projects.
