MOVING THE BEAR CLAN

Helping to fund the purchase of a vehicle for outreach

True North Aid is working with the Kenora Bear Clan to assist with the purchase of a van allowing them to provide the very important outreach that is needed to help the most vulnerable living on the streets in the Kenora region. The Kenora Bear Clan was re-established this summer to serve marginalized persons in compromised positions or conditions, get from the streets to services who can help them. The Bear Clan provides this service in a culturally safe manner without further stigmatization to the person who is being helped.

This van will allow the Bear Clan to build relationships and lend a helping hand by providing transportation and much-needed guidance. To learn more about the Kenora Bear Clan and our efforts to help them,

Thank you to our volunteer Alina Heck in British Columbia for collecting empty cans and bottles to fundraise for the COVID-19 Emergency Fund. Alina’s friends and family were able to raise over $200 in their bottle returns – that’s a lot of bottles! If you’d like to support Alina in her fundraisers go to her fundraising page on our website!
